
Coach “T” has been coaching volleyball almost as long as he has played. He is known by many of his peers as “Richie” and has earned his playing respects on the courts and in the sand. Tulao coached for 3 years at American Fork High School. He has coached for Summit for the past 5 years as an elite coach. Taking 4th & 5th in Region power play for 3 years, and 9th at Crossroads in Denver, along with the silver championships at Reno’s Far Western Tourney. His career starts from California as a child playing volleyball. He has also played International ball for the Outrigger Canoe Club in Hawaii. He was train by Pete Velasco who was a former Olympian. Also played with players such as Allen Allen who was also a former Olympian. Played with players such as Eric Fonoimoana who also was a Gold Medal Reciepent in the Olympian. Also spent some time playing with and against a great player in his own right Jake Gibbs who hail from North Salt Lake area, who is now one of the top money maker in the AVP. As the new director of Summit Volleyball, Tulao will be working to develop the younger and older players at Summit.
Tulao and wife Danette have 7 children together: Kendrick (U of U football TE #81 & Jordan, Makenzie (UNLV volleyball #9), Cody, Austin, Gabrielle and Coleman.
